A classic North-Berkeley craftsman home stripped to the frame for a seismic upgrade was completely restored both inside and out. New windows, doors, casework, tile, fixtures and trim seamlessly combine with the existing architectural features. Incorporated into this classic design are natural finishes, recycled materials and a number of green-friendly elements.
Given the house’s historic style, decisions had to be based on what the original builders might do with materials available today. The owners wanted to stay true to the heritage of the house. The entire design/build team felt a responsibility to observe this top priority. We wanted to be part of the homes' history and helped to maintain its original character for another 100 years.
